The Administrator, State Hospital Management Board, General Hospital, Enugwu-Ukwu, Dr Richmond Achugbu, says it is wrong to wear face masks in the jaw instead of covering the mouth and nose.
He said proper wearing of the facemasks entails that one’s mouth and nose must be covered; to help to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Achugbu said this shortly after Monday’s morning routine prayer session at the Hall of the General Hospital Enugwu-Ukwu.
He maintained that proper wearing of face masks would not only help people not to contract the disease but would prevent them from infecting others.
He maintained that the face mask should always be worn properly and not on the as it is not jaw mask, but to be properly worn to cover rhe nose and mouth.
Dr Achugbu demonstrated to staff members how to wash and sanitise their hands with soap, water and hand sanitiser.
He noted that strict adherence to safety measures outlined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to fight COVID-19 would help in reducing the spread.
He gave out bottles of hand sanitisers, urging the workers to always make use of them.
