The Chinese government has secured Nigeria’s approval to establish electric vehicle factories in the country.
Chinese Ambassador Yu Dunhai made this known during a visit to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake. Dunhai emphasized the importance of industrial collaboration, citing President Tinubu’s recent state visit to China.
Alake welcomed the move and urged Chinese investors to commit to full-cycle investments from mineral extraction to electric vehicle production.
He also warned against illegal mining, referencing recent violations by some firms.
The ambassador assured that China supports Nigeria’s local value-addition policy and is ready to promote legal, sustainable, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
