The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), has launched an initiative to revive the country’s cotton industry.
This effort aims to create over 1.4 million jobs annually in the cotton and textile sector.
The announcement came on Tuesday, after a meeting between Vice President Kashim Shettima and the ICAC delegation at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s industrialization drive, focusing on developing the entire cotton value chain, including farming, weaving, and ginning, to stimulate economic growth and job creation.
