Many workers, including those from institutions like the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, and the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, are feeling the pinch of this delay, with some struggling to meet basic needs.
While the Office of the Accountant General cited the need to finalize the 2024 Appropriation as the cause of the delay, affected workers are urging expedited action to alleviate their financial burdens.
In other states like Oyo and Katsina, federal workers share similar grievances, citing difficulties in commuting to work and coping with rising costs of living.
Despite assurances of palliative support, many workers claim to have received minimal aid, exacerbating their already dire situations.
The affected workers said that as the government works to address these challenges, they continue to hope for swift resolution, emphasizing the need for timely and transparent communication.
