Gas explosion injures 20, burns shops in Kano

No fewer than 20 persons were injured following a gas explosion at a Liquefied Petroleum Gas refilling shop at Sheka quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident happened at about 8:00pm on Thursday, after a cylinder exploded, which also led to the destruction of some shops.
It was gathered that the fire started when a fish seller was frying the fish near the gas refilling shop.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf, confirmed the incident.
He said that the 20 affected persons were rescued alive and taken to hospital for treatment.
