Good News Alert: Awka Capital Territory Stakeholders Takes Bold Steps Towards Peace And Security

Stakeholders in Awka join forces to condemn recent violence and pledge collaborative efforts for peace, with the support of the Commissioner of Police and Divisional Police Officer.

Awka’s prominent stakeholders have joined together in a unified stance against the recent surge of violence plaguing the state capital. Spearheaded by the MD/CEO of the Awka Capital Territory Development Agency (ACTDA), Honorable Ossy Onuko, alongside influential figures such as House member Honorable Nigeria Henry Mbachu and Awka South Transition Chairman Honorable ThankGod Anagor, a collective resolve has been established to address the escalating crisis.

Since Easter Sunday, Awka has been rocked by approximately 20 reported killings, prompting an urgent response from concerned stakeholders. Honorable Ossy Onuko emphasized the pivotal role of stakeholders in safeguarding the capital, stressing the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all residents and investors.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by the resurgence of cult-related violence, stakeholders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to restoring peace and stability in Awka. With the support of the Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye and Divisional Police Officer of B Division, Area Command among other stakeholders are bolstered in their efforts to address the root causes of violence and separate cultism from criminal activities. Together, they issued a heartfelt plea to all residents, particularly the youth, to embrace peace and reject violence. With a collective determination to combat insecurity through collaborative and comprehensive strategies, stakeholders remain hopeful for a brighter, safer future for Awka and its populace.
