Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has cautioned Nigerians to be desist from Spreading fake news. During a special church service held at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, as part of Independence anniversary celebrations in Awka, Soludo expressed concern that some individuals are using social media platforms to spread false information, aiming to create fear and panic in society.
He urged people to remain vigilant and verify information before sharing it.
The governor also mentioned the deployment of security personnel to strategic locations in the state and efforts to improve intelligence gathering to address security challenges.
The officiating priest, Rev Fr Charles Ndubuisi described Nigeria as a sick, corrupt, and broken country in need of healing but expressed hope for a brighter future.
