Governor Willie Obiano has called on Christians to let the light of their kindness shine on their neighbours this yuletide.
The governor stated this in Awka, in his Christmas Message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr James Eze.
Governor Obiano observed that mankind has been so heavily traumatized in 2020, and posited that only genuine acts of kindness can heal the deep wounds inflicted on every one by COVID-19 pandemic and other afflictions of the year.
He maintained that throughout history, the walls that separate humanity from one another have always fallen down in times of common adversity and grief, saying that simple acts of kindness heal broken hearts, in addition to giving many people hope.
Governor Obiano called on Ndi Anambra to intensify their communal efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic during the Yuletide as such efforts have proven to be a master stroke against the scourge, pointing out that at the peak of the COVID-19 onslaught earlier in the year, philanthropists and humanitarians in various communities in the State had risen to push back at the threat.
Governor Obiano who reminded all that the COVID-19 is still very much around, urged the people to minimize the chances of exposing themselves to the dreaded menace.
He said they could do this by celebrating Christmas indoors with their families and loved ones and advised the people to always wear their face masks if they must go out.
