Governor Soludo Hosts Anambra Mayors, Deputy Mayor’s, Councilors, And APGA Officials At Strategic Meeting
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, convened a crucial meeting with the 21 local government mayors, their deputies, and all 326 ward councilors at the International Conference Center, Agu Awka.
The gathering served as a platform for the governor to mandate all members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to obtain their voter registration cards and to initiate a cooperative loan program across the 326 wards in Anambra State.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Soludo emphasized that the cooperative initiative is designed to provide financial support for small-scale traders, particularly women selling goods on roadside tables. He noted that many of these traders manage inventories worth no more than ₦5,000, making it difficult for them to sustain their businesses and support their families.
The governor further explained that the cooperative program would run on a one-year repayment cycle, with the allocated funds increasing annually to expand its reach and impact.
Commending APGA leaders, party members, and Ndi Anambra for their trust in his administration, Governor Soludo highlighted the ongoing multipurpose road projects across the state, as well as completed infrastructure developments. He also acknowledged the nearing completion of the Solution Fun City in Awka, which is set to boost tourism and economic activities in the state.
Ahead of the APGA party primaries scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2025, Governor Soludo urged party members and supporters to rally behind him as he seeks to emerge as the party’s flag bearer for the upcoming November 8 governorship election.
In a show of solidarity, Anaocha Local Government Chairman, Comrade Romanus Ibekwe, expressed strong support for Governor Soludo’s second-term ambition, assuring that the people of Anaocha would stand firmly with him during the primaries and the main election. Other local government chairmen also pledged their unwavering support for the governor’s re-election bid.
The meeting witnessed the presence of several notable dignitaries, including the National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa; National and State APGA officials; the State Chairman, Hon. Ifeatu Obi Okoye; all 21 local government chairmen; women and youth leaders; as well as ward councilors, among others.
