In its determined effort to bring back the old memories of the Zoo and promote tourism, the Enugu state government is discussing with foreign partners for the New Enugu Zoo.

The partners through MINCHENG Nigeria Ltd, the consultants have presented a proposal to the State government.

The proposed Enugu Open Zoo Sanctuary and Wonderland is tourism reserve that will house exotic and endangered animals and plant species.

The center is expected to provide pleasure seekers and nature enthusiasts the opportunity to experience animal and plant eco system.

‘Since the creation of Enugu state urbanization has encroached into the natural habitat of the indigent animal and plant life. Zoos and animal reserves which ones served as a point of leisure and relaxation for families have been overtaking by estates and other man-made projects.”
