The gunmen, reportedly numbering around 30, emerged from the bush at dawn, setting several buildings on fire, including a town hall for traditional rulers and other administrative facilities.

This marks the second attack on the Ogbaru LGA in two months, following a similar incident on June 15, 2024.

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen, who fired shots into the air, were eventually driven away by security operatives. The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the attack and stated that a joint security operation is ongoing to restore order in the area.
