The House of Representatives has tasked heads of security agencies and the National Security Adviser to end the attacks in the Anambra state.

The resloution was passed at Tuesday’s plenary following the adoption of a motion sponsored by a Lawmaker from Anambra, Chris Azugbogu.

Taking the lead,Azugbogu lamented that Anambra , which was once known as a peaceful state, is now a center of attacks by unknown gunmen. He also attributed the killings to mischief makers who are bent on causing tension and panic ahead of the gubernatorial election.

He said that there is need to work with security agencies in order to contain these acts so that Anambra can become a state safe for law abiding citizens and business people.

Also supporting his motion was Obinna Chidoka, who said the situation in the state was becoming worrisome.

Speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila said the security situation in Anambra is very critical .

Unanimously adopting the motion, the house directed its committee on national security and intelligence and police affairs to work with security agencies to ensure that normalcy is returned to the state and report back to the house in three weeks.
