The Indigenous People of Biafra ,IPOB, has reacted to the what it called, ‘senseless shooting’ which took place in Enugu state on Monday. The IPOB said the activities of the hoodlums and cultists were sponsored by some evil politicians in the state who derive joy in spilling blood of their fellow citizens .
In a statement signed and released online by the Media and Publicity secretary for IPOB, Emma Powerful, he said that they have severally explained that IPOB has not authorized anybody to enforce Monday sit -at -home which has since being suspended since September 19, 2021. He said that anyone enforcing sit at home order by unleashing terror and sorrow on innocent citizens is a criminal and should be dealt with.
Reiterating that IPOB didn’t ask anyone to enforce sit at home of any kind, he said that as a precaution and as a way to stop such, ESN operatives will come from the bushes and forests and go after those criminals unleashing mayhem on innocent people.
Emma Powerful also called on Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to deal decisively with any hoodlum using Monday sit at home to torture innocent citizens and residents of the state as no genuine IPOB member or ESN operatives is involved in any enforcement of Monday sit at home order.
He also said that those shooting sporadically in the market are criminals and bandits using the name of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and ESN to humiliate the people and demonize the movement.
Emphasizing that IPOB was not formed to terrorize people, ESN operatives must be ready to confront criminals creating these problems in the name of ESN and IPOB in the region.
Emma Powerful tasked governors in the South East region to provide security for the people on Mondays while also calling on the media to stop linking IPOB and ESN with the criminals behind the sad development.
He maintained that the Monday sit at home has been called of and has not been rescinded.
