Journalists in Anambra State Have Been Tasked To Use Their Medium To Educate The People on Forthcoming Census

Journalists in Anambra have been urged to educate people on the importance of the forthcoming National head count.

In a capacity program organized for journalists with the theme as Effective Reporting Of the 2023 Population and Housing Census in Awka on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu said that the government of Anambra is aware of the importance of the census which necessitated the capacity training program which will help the trainees to properly sensitize the people.

He mentioned that one of the ways of changing the mindset and attitude of the people towards the census is by communication and enlightenment.

Speaking at the event, the National Population Commission representing Anambra State, Mr Chidi Ezeoke said that the Commission needs the support of the stakeholders to deliver the country through credible and reliable data that will be used for sustainable development planning.

He also stated that the Population and Housing Census is a national event and is the responsibility of Ndi Anambra to participate by presenting themselves to be counted.
