Nigerians travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been asked to ensure they do so with proper documentation as Saudi authorities have heightened a clamp down on irregular migrants .
This was contained in an advisory on behalf of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) by Mr Gabriel Odu of the Media , Public Relations and Protocol Unit on Monday.
He said that about 800 Nigerians have been arrested and detained for various offences particularly Consular issues since the clamp down began in October 2022.
The Commission mentioned that the Nigeria Embassy is intervening in the case but advised Nigerians to resist breaking the laws of other countries and appealed to Nigerians to travel with proper information about the host country and mostly legitimate documents.
