The Nigeria Police Force has declared a British national, Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich, and a Nigerian, Lucky Obiyan, wanted for allegedly plotting to overthrow the Nigerian government.
Police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi revealed that Wynne is accused of establishing a network of sleeper cells to destabilize the country. He reportedly rented space at Labour House in Abuja, where he set up a bookshop and a school as covers for his activities.
Following extensive investigations, nine suspects have been arrested, and police allege these individuals received significant foreign funding to incite violence and orchestrate protests aimed at creating chaos. Adejobi stated that Wynne provided financial and operational support for these unlawful activities.
Both Wynne and Obiyan have fled the country, prompting the police to initiate a global search for their arrest. The police are committed to ensuring national security and have warned against any attempts to undermine the democratic government.
