President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assigned Jim Osayande Obazee, the CEO of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), as a special investigator to investigate the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other government business entities.
This move follows the suspension and arrest of Godwin Emefiele, the former CBN governor, by the Department of State Security on June 9, 2023.
According to the president, the appointment of the special investigator aims to address corruption, in accordance with Section 15(5) of the Nigerian Constitution.
