Lagos state Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, has said that the Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended palliative measures by ensuring that vehicles impounded for minor traffic offenses were returned to their owners with the fines waived.
He also said that the governor had during the cash crunch period, reduced the fare by 50% to alleviate the suffering of the people using BRTs and all the Lagos state funded public transport, including Lag Ride.
The commissioner said the waiving of fines is part of government’s initiative to cushion the effect of the cash crunch due to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Naira redesign policy.
