The Ministry of Lands in Anambra State, led by Prof. Offornze Dike Amucheazi, has started training staff members on how to use digital technology in the processing of Certificates of Occupancy and other land-related documentations. This is in line with the information technology and communication-driven public service vision of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, the Commissioner for Lands, emphasized that computerized application and processing of Certificates of Occupancy and other documents would improve service delivery. He also charged ministry staff with being transparent and accountable in the way they carried out their duties.

Prof. Amucheazi presented the opening remarks at the ongoing training session on land administration digitization that was arranged for ministry workers and held at the Geographic Information System (GIS) office of the ministry in Awka.
He said that the automated application and processing of Certificates of Occupancy, among other things, is a component of the ministry’s continuing transformation, which aims to move the ministry’s activities from a manual to a digital mode of land administration.
The Geographic Information System office, which is housed within the ministry’s grounds, will soon accept electronic payments for all government-approved land registration and documentation fees.
The Commissioner congratulated the state of Anambra for long overdue digitisation of land administration.
He emphasized that Professor Chukwuma Soludo frowns at land grabbing and encroachment of any kind, warning staff of the ministry not to be found wanting in their responsibilities.
