Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has reminded mothers that there is huge task before them in the struggle to save the home and society from total collapse.
Mrs Soludo, who stated this in Awka while addressing a women’s group, explained that mothers must wake up to certain responsibilities, as today’s society is plagued by issues that question parenting tradition.
The governor’s wife, while stating that today’s society would plunge into irrecoverable disaster, if urgent steps are not taken, asked parents to start by asking crucial questions about their homes, including the whereabouts of their children and wards, and other important findings.
She stated that parents must also question the source of their children’s sudden wealth and keep close observation on the type of friends they keep and their overall way of life.
She noted that the homes takes a large share of blame in the moral downturn of the present society and called for a review of family patterns, traditions and child raising methods.
She also noted that parents must always set exemplary standards for their children and wards, in all aspects of their lives.
The governor’s wife further called on relevant stakeholders, including schools, religious and community leaderships, among others, to prioritize the campaign and pay more attention to issues that have direct consequences on family and society.
She reassured that her husband’s administration is zealous on policies that will trickle down to the last unit of the society, and promised to continue to lend her voice to crucial conversations concerning Anambra women, children, homes and society.
