The Nigerian Air Force says its latest air interdictions have neutralized scores of terrorists and destroyed a major insurgent enclave in Borno State.

In a statement released in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that the operation was carried out on Wednesday morning around Bula Madibale in the Gezuwa general area.

Ejodame explained that intelligence and surveillance had revealed unusual movements at the location, where about 45 terrorists were seen converging, with some arriving on motorcycles and bicycles. Two terrorist flags were also spotted hoisted at the site, indicating its use as a stronghold and rallying point.

Acting on the intelligence, precision strikes were launched, eliminating several terrorists and destroying the flagged structure along with other hostile assets.

The Nigerian Air Force says the successful operation has denied the insurgents freedom to regroup, reinforce, or mount further attacks on communities in the North East.

The Armed Forces reaffirm their commitment to restoring peace and stability across the region.
