Yakubu Maikyau, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, has stated that the Bar will take action against any lawyer proven to be negligent in performing their official duties, provided substantial evidence is available.
He made this statement during a press briefing marking the upcoming 2023 annual general conference, centered around the theme ‘Getting It Right, Charting the Course for Nigeria’s Nation-building.’ Maikyau urged all legal practitioners to consistently , the ethical standards of the profession, highlighting that justice plays a crucial role in the advancement of a just, equitable, and progressive nation.
