The Niger State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) made significant strides in October, arresting 38 suspects and seizing over 226 kilograms of illegal drugs.
According to Commandant Shehu Godabawa, these suspects face charges for drug trafficking, illegal possession, and dealing in illicit substances.
Eleven of those arrested have already been charged in court. Alongside enforcement, the NDLEA carried out 37 awareness programs across schools, communities, and public events to educate the public on the dangers of drug abuse.
Godabawa emphasized the agency’s dedication to creating a drug-free society through continued enforcement and community-based awareness. He urged residents to report suspicious activities, reaffirming the NDLEA’s commitment to reducing drug demand and supply in Niger State.
