Nigerian boxer Cynthia Temitayo Ogunsemilore has been suspended from the Paris Olympics for violating an anti-doping rule. The International Testing Agency (ITA) announced that a sample collected from Ogunsemilore tested positive for furosemide, a prohibited substance classified as a diuretic and masking agent by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

The sample was taken in Paris on Thursday, just before the Olympics’ opening ceremony. Ogunsemilore, a 22-year-old boxer in the under 60 kg category, was set to debut on Monday. She has the right to challenge the suspension and request an analysis of her B sample.
