Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, says Nigeria’s airports fall short of global standards and need urgent upgrades.
Responding to a tweet from diaspora Nigerian Dipo Awojide, Keyamo acknowledged visible improvements at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport but said more must be done.
He revealed that the old MMIA terminal, built for 200,000 passengers yearly, now handles over 3 million, creating major strain.
To address this, the government plans a total rebuild of the terminal to accommodate 20 million passengers annually.
He assured that President Tinubu’s administration is committed to overhauling the country’s aviation infrastructure.
