The Super Falcons of Nigeria are through to the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after a dramatic 2-1 win over defending champions South Africa in Casablanca.
Rasheedat Ajibade opened scoring for Nigeria from the spot just before halftime. South Africa hit back in the 60th minute with a penalty of their own by Linda Motlhalo.
But in added time, Gloria Alozie’s deep cross slipped past the South African keeper under pressure, sealing a stunning late winner.
The Falcons will now face either Morocco or Ghana in Saturday’s final, as they chase a record-extending WAFCON title.
