The UFC 286 fight between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards , which held at the 02 Arena in London on 18 March was a contention between two welterweights.
After four rounds of a keenly contested fight, Usman was able to take Edwards down in the fifth round but Edward overpowered him and survived the final bell.
After the fight , Usman congratulated Edwards and expressed a desire for a rematch while Edwards praised Usman’s toughness and also said he was looking forward to defending his title against the best in the division.
Despite the loss, Usman will make some money from the match. Usman received 500,000 dollars base salary while Edwards earned 350,000 dollars , for the rematch at UFC 278, which is excluding fight bonuses. The official UFC 268 purse was yet to be released at the time of filing this result.
