Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Filip Jorgensen is now the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, replacing Robert Sanchez. The decision follows a series of costly errors by Sanchez, including in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last month.
Jorgensen, 22, started in Chelsea’s recent league win against West Ham but was benched for the FA Cup loss to Brighton. However, Maresca stated that the young Dane is now his main option between the posts.
Despite recent struggles, Chelsea remain in the Premier League’s top four. Maresca remains confident in the team’s progress and is focused on securing Champions League qualification this season.
