Another report from the Anambra State Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps said a serious road traffic crash occurred at Boromeo Round About, Onitsha axis of the Onitsha-Awka Expressway, last Tuesday, at about four o’clock in the evening.
The report said one person was critically injured in a road crash caused by brake failure.
According to an eyewitness account, a tipper lorry due to brake failure knocked down a pedestrian who was crossing the road and was rushed to hospital for treatment by the FRSC rescue team.
The Sector Commander, Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, who wished the injured victim a quick recovery, urged motorists to service their vehicles and ensure they meet the minimum safety standard before hitting the road, as well as give full concentration to driving.
He pointed out that Road Safety is everyone’s business; urging motorists to drive to stay alive.
