An illustrious son of Uli, in Ihiala Council Area, Onowu Frank Igwe, has called on the youth to embrace Agriculture instead of waiting for white collar job to eke out a living for themselves.
Onowu Igwe who made the call at Uli while speaking to the press, maintained that agriculture remains a viable option for self actualization.
He also spoke on the need for Ndigbo to sustain the culture of promoting the ideals of their tradition, and noted that venerating the yam as king of all crops Is one of the ways of promoting the Igbo culture.
To this end, he announced plans to hold his 16th Iwa ji festival which holds every second Saturday in the month of October to showcase part of the Igbo culture, as well as empowering the widows and youths.
He further used the forum to commend Governor Willie Obiano for his dynamic leadership and urged him to pay attention to the dilapidated roads in some parts of Uli in the town.
