The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested three suspects for the murder of two individuals alleged to be members of a cult group from Eyo-Abasi in Mbo Local Government Area.
According to Commissioner of Police Joseph Eribo, the suspects were apprehended on October 16, 2024, after hiding in a ravine in the village following the crime, based on intelligence gathered by the police.
Additionally, on October 17, 2024, two suspects were arrested for stealing a Jenbei Hiase bus that had been parked due to mechanical issues on Akpa Ube Street in Uyo. The police traced the suspects to Mechanic Village along Abak Road, where they had dismantled the bus.
Earlier, on October 6, four suspected armed robbers were also arrested with firearms along Idoro Road in Uyo metropolis.
The CP warned criminals to desist from illegal activities, emphasizing that Akwa Ibom is no longer safe for crime.
He also encouraged residents to provide credible information on criminal activities to assist in maintaining security across the state. All the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are complete.
