President Buhari Requests for Additional Provision of 2.557 Trillion Naira for Fuel Subsidy

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked for an additional provision of N2.557 trillion for petrol subsidy in 2022.

This was contain in a letter sent to the national assembly requesting consideration and approval to accommodate the additional fuel subsidy funding.

The letter was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at the upper chamber of the national assembly on Tuesday.

According to the president, the request for more funding was to ensure that critical ongoing projects that are critical to his administration , and those nearing completion , do not suffer a setback due to reduces funding.

President Buhari said that while N106 billion provided in the supplementary bill would be used as capital expenditure, N43.87 billion would be spent on recurrent expenditures.
