Police in Anambra State have recovered a TRACAS shuttle bus just hours after it was snatched by armed hoodlums in Nkwelle, Oyi Local Government Area.
The five-man gang, posing as passengers, reportedly robbed the driver of twenty thousand naira and the vehicle before fleeing. Following a distress call on May 17, operatives from Obosi Division swiftly moved into action, alerting checkpoints across the area.
The pressure forced the suspects to abandon the bus at Slaughter Junction, Nkwelle, and escape into a nearby bush.
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, says security patrols have been intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects and to maintain safety in the area.
