Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have killed five suspected kidnappers terrorizing Ubulu-Uku, Issele-Uku, and surrounding areas.
Police Spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that the operation followed intelligence reports.
According to him, officers stormed a hideout at Agu-Amawbia Forest in Anambra State, recovering one AK-47 rifle and 132 rounds of live ammunition.
Further search led to the recovery of two additional AK-47 rifles and 18 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
Edafe confirmed that a manhunt is ongoing for other fleeing suspects injured during the encounter.
