The Rivers State Police Command said its men had neutralised a notorious kidnapper and murder suspect, identified as David Uzoma Kamalu, during a raid on his hideout in Rumuodogu 1 Community, Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
The police said the suspect, who was responsible for various high-profile crimes against innocent citizens, including robberies on the East Road, was killed when he and his gang opened fire on operatives who raided his camp.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Thursday.
Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, further said Kamalu, also known as ‘M-Kaze’ had been on the wanted list of security agencies for his involvement in the murder of a local security operative, Mr Alete popularly called ‘Hunter Commander’ in January this year.
