The Presidency has denied claims that Vice President Kashim Shettima criticized the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara during a recent book launch.
In a statement released on Friday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, the Presidency clarified that Shettima’s remarks were taken out of context.
The Vice President’s comments were historical references to past political events, not a critique of current developments.
The Presidency also stated that President Tinubu did not remove Fubara, but constitutionally suspended him under Section 305 to address political unrest in Rivers State.
The statement urged the public to avoid spreading false narratives and affirmed Shettima’s full support for the President’s constitutional actions.
