In a broadcast on Sunday, President Bola Tinubu addressed nationwide protests against the high cost of living and bad governance.

To alleviate economic strain, Tinubu announced several measures such as distributing one million conversion kits for vehicles to switch to compressed natural gas, providing N570 billion to states for livelihood support, and launching a 1 billion Naira loan scheme for manufacturers.
Additionally, tariffs on essential food and medical imports will be suspended for six months.

He said the government will also expand the student loan scheme, support nano-businesses, and establish housing projects nationwide. These initiatives aim to reduce transportation costs, boost food production, and create jobs.
