The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has appointed Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya as its 16th Vice-Chancellor.
A statement by university spokesperson Inya Agha Egwu confirmed that the appointment was ratified by the Governing Council after a transparent, merit-based process chaired by Council Chairman Kayode Ojo.
Prof. Ortuanya, a distinguished legal scholar, brings decades of academic and public service experience, including roles as Enugu State’s SSG, Commissioner for Education, and Associate Dean at UNN.
The university community hailed the appointment as the beginning of a transformative era in leadership and academic excellence.
