On The Foreign Scene
This week, President Vladimir Putin will host over 20 world leaders at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, aiming to showcase Russia’s resilience against Western sanctions.
Leaders attending include China’s Xi Jinping, India’s Narendra Modi, and Iran’s Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Kremlin describes the summit as one of its largest foreign policy events, signaling that attempts to isolate Russia have failed.
The BRICS bloc, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, now also features Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the UAE. Together, these nations represent 45% of the global population and nearly 28% of the world economy.
