In Osogbo, Osun State, the Yoruba Obas Forum, representing monarchs from Nigeria’s South West and North Central zones, has issued a stern warning against those planning to use the proposed national hunger protest to incite chaos.

The Forum’s statement, signed by leaders including the Molokun of Atijere, Oba Samuel Adeoye, and the Elerinmo of Erinmo, Oba Michael Ajayi, emphasized that while the frustrations of Nigerians are understood, protests often lead to violence and property destruction.

They urged for dialogue and strategic approaches to address the nation’s issues. The Obas cautioned that exploiting the protest could destabilize the country further, and urged youths to avoid anarchy.

They acknowledged the young administration of President Bola Tinubu is working towards improving living standards. The monarchs appealed for patience and peaceful solutions during these challenging times. They said that this is a critical call for maintaining peace and stability in Nigeria.
