The House of Representatives has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to block all pornographic sites nationwide. The resolution, sponsored by APC lawmaker Dalhatu Tafoki, mandates internet service providers to enforce the ban immediately.
Tafoki argued that Nigeria, as a religious country, must take stronger action against cyber pornography, citing its links to addiction, prostitution, and moral decay. He referenced global bans and expert warnings on the harmful effects of pornography.
Following a voice vote, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas confirmed lawmakers’ support, directing the NCC to impose penalties on non-compliant service providers.
