See What Soludo’s Wife Asked Anambra Women To Do

Mrs Nonye Soludo, wife of the Governor of Anambra State, has tasked women to explore funding and support opportunities available to small and medium scale entrepreneurs in Anambra State.

Addressing women leaders from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and different women support groups, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Mrs Nonye, who has been engaged in week-long meetings with women groups from different organizational backgrounds, encouraged them to take charge of their homes and communities, adopt healthy living practices, and to also get involved in safe and lucrative agriculture.

According to report, the governor’s wife stated that easy loans are available to support entrepreneurs, through the Anambra Small Business Agency, ASBA, and asked them to form cooperative groups to have easy access to available funding.

Mrs Soludo also told the women to use the August Meeting to have serious conversations on how to reform their homes and the society, explaining that the current social ravages pose a huge threat to tomorrow’s future.

She also urged them always speak out against unhealthy social practices, including child abuse, trafficking and criminalities, and assured them that her husband’s administration is committed to the new Anambra process.

Earlier in her remarks, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, asked the women to understand that their homes must be built in line with the right norms, as one of the approaches to raising ideal children that will drive a better Anambra State.

The guest lecturers, who took the women through sessions on coconut and high breed yam farming, Ambassador Nma Okoroji, who is the National Coconut Producers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria, and a university teacher, Professor Cordelia Ebenebe, asked them to capitalize on the extensive food and economic benefits of both crops.

While the women support groups were led by the National Woman Leader of All Soludo Support Groups, Dame Theresa Okoye, APGA Women Leaders were led by Mrs Gloria Udevi.
