Senate President Godswill Akpabio has advised Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to resolve issues within his party before aspiring to lead Nigeria.
Akpabio made the statement today, at the valedictory session held in honour of late statesman Chief Edwin Clark.
Reacting to Obi’s recent remarks lamenting that “the labour of our heroes past is in vain,” Akpabio said Obi lacks the moral ground to govern if he cannot resolve Labour Party’s internal crisis.
He added that Nigeria’s challenges require leaders capable of managing internal and national conflicts. Akpabio also listed his own achievements as governor, including digital governance, free education, and religious inclusion.
He warned against divisive use of social media and urged political maturity.
