Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was denied entry into the National Assembly on Tuesday, despite a Federal High Court ruling ordering her recall.

The Kogi Central lawmaker, suspended for six months in March over alleged misconduct, arrived with supporters, including activist Aisha Yesufu, but was stopped at multiple gates by security officials.

Though she insisted the court’s decision supported her return, the Senate maintained that there’s no binding order to lift her suspension early. Senate President Akpabio has appealed the judgement.

Senator Natasha says she will consult her legal team and return when the Senate resumes from its two-month recess.
