Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has been sworn in as the sixth governor of Anambra State at an event that took place at the Government House in Awka, today.
Soludo, who takes over from Willie Obiano, took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
Professor Soludo, after his swearing-in, inspected a guard of honour and gave his inaugural speech, where he promised to make the state an economic hub and called on sons and daughters of the state to work with him to achieve that goal, as well as patronize made in Anambra products.
Thereafter, an inter-denominational service was held before the new Governor set out to work.
The event was low key and devoid of the usual merry-making and unbridled celebrations usually associated with occasions of this nature.
