Stray Bullet From Operation Delta Hawk Officer Kills Woman In Asaba

A woman has been reportedly killed after she was gunned down by an officer of the newly inaugurated security outfit; Operation Delta Hawk in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The incident which occurred on Tuesday, was confirmed by the Coordinator of Operation Delta Hawk, David Tonwe, while speaking to the media.

According to him, the team was chasing after a car without a plate number after the driver refused to stop.
The team then fired at the vehicle but unfortunately, an unidentified woman was hit by the bullet, killing her on the spot.

Corroborating the story, eyewitnesses claimed some of the officers were in pursuit of two young men in a vehicle when they opened fire on them on the road.
Unfortunately, the woman who was selling at a corner of the road was hit by a bullet and died instantly.

Operation Delta Hawk was inaugurated on December 10 by Governor Ifeanyi to assist in curbing criminal vices in the state.
