The Super Eagles of Nigeria yesterday, lost 1-0 to Algeria in an international friendly played in Austria.
The game, which was the first game the Super Eagles were playing this year,
saw the African champions, Algeria take an early lead, as Ramy Bensebaini tucked away a rebound after Maduka Okoye’s effort at a save, to score the only goal of the game in the 6th minute.
The Algerian team were the better side against a Nigerian squad that had to do without Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimen. Goal keeper, Okoye however made some good saves and might get to keep the number one spot on the team.
Paul Onoachu and Alex Iwobi came close to leveling things in the first half but the team was however unable to find the back of the net, in a friendly which sees Algeria get its 3rd straight win against Nigeria.
The Eagles will hope to bounce back from the defeat when they take on Tunisia in another friendly on Tuesday.
