Suspected vandals have damaged the Ogboinbiri 24-inch gas pipeline in the deep swamp area of Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State. The pipeline, owned by Oando Energy, runs between Angiama and Angiamagbene communities.

In a statement on Friday, the Bayelsa State Government strongly condemned the act, describing it as economic sabotage. Commissioner for Information, Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, assured that the state is working with security agencies to track the perpetrators and prevent future attacks.

She urged residents to stay vigilant, stressing that damage to national assets not only causes revenue loss but also serious health and environmental risks. Youths were advised to avoid destructive behavior and support the government’s development goals.
