In the lower federal legislative assembly, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has been elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Abbas got the position on Tuesday after a majority of the members -elect openly voted for him.
He polled 363 votes to emerge the Speaker , defeating the current Deputy Speaker , Ahmed Wase and Sani Jaji, with three votes each.
