In Ebonyi state, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday, ordered immediate arrest of one Mrs. Ann Agom-Eze, a senatorial rival to Governor David Umahi over alleged anti-party and perjury against the party in the state.
The state chairman of the party, Mr. Stanley Okoro Emegha, made this known while speaking to journalists in Abakaliki capital of Ebonyi State.
He called on the Nigeria Police to arrest Mr. Agom-Eze anyplace, she is sighted for attempting to cause crisis and division in the party.
Emegha noted further that it is impossible for Ann Agom-Eze to fly the Ebonyi South Senatorial ticket of APC in the state.
He further accused Agom-Eze of committing anti-party activities by associating with some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to cause crisis in the APC.
He said that in their party’s constitution, a letter is usually signed by the Chairman and Secretary, but in this case it was only signed by the Chairman and is contrary to their constitution. He said that they tried to give her fair hearing as she has been invited to the zone, state, and ward level and she refused to come.
He also said that for the female contestants, the form was given free while the male paid N20m and in addition to that, she demanded a Prado SUV and N20M. He also said she never complained to the ward, zone and state that she was being marginalized.
Emegha said that she openly denied that she never withdrew and they are charging her to court for perjury.
He said that a letter has been written to the CP for her to be arrested and charged to Court and charged Ann for anti-party activities.
He reiterated that Ann Agom-Eze will not fly their flag in the 2023 general elections.
